Color Trend 2012: Feeling blue

As a decorator, I believe that color changes everything.

Not just your home but also your mood and how you feel about things in general.

That's why I am always so interested in color trend forecasts.  It's not that I call all of my clients and tell them to repaint. But because color trends tell us a lot about who we are and most important, what we need and want in our homes.

A good example is Benjamin Moore's 2012 Color of the year:  wythe blue (HC-143).

A safe forecast because blue never goes out of style.  It is a classic color.  Something we can trust. Calming.  Perfect for the time in which we live.  Or any time.

From the historical collection, it has a blue green hue with a cool gray cast to it. A modern edge. I predict it will become a go-to color for designers in 2012.

Benjamin Moore describes wythe blue as "a beautiful, calming hue that has an element of heritage and offers grounding rootedness, providing comfort and stability."

Who doesn't want some of this?
