2011 is coming whether we are ready or not!
Since I find resolutions just one more thing to impose guilt, I don't do them. This year, I was happy to find and would like to share something from Holstee. You may have seen this over the past couple of months. It is well worth reading often. Better than a resolution. More of a committment. I have it printed out and I read it every day.
Holstee Manifesto.
Also, I do two things every year at this time.
First, I clean out my office. Right down to the files. It helps me to start over in a New Year without a lot of papers that I will never need or projects that I will never do.
Second, I make a list of five (never more than five) items to accomplish in my home this year. See if they work for you. This year's list:
1. Do one task to stay organized every month. January: Declutter closet.
2. Eliminate what I don't love. An empty space is better that a space filled with meaningless objects.
3. Develop a style and stick to it. This applies to your home decor and to your fashion sense. Stick to a style and your home will be less cluttered and you will save $$$.
4. Reuse, recycle and repurpose.
5. Keep a calm and tranquil home. This applies to everything from the lighting, textures, color, accents, scents and artwork.
When the clock strikes midnight, my New Year's wish for 2011 is one of hope, thankfulness and peace in 2011.
