Simple pleasures: The scent of a candle
Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 12:23PM |
Wrenda This week I did a candle makeover in my own home.
Out with the leftover holiday scents and in with spring. With names like Fluffy Towels, Garden Hideaway, Orange Dreamsicle (yummy) and Soft Blanket...all new from Yankee Candle...who could resist? My all-time favorite candle is Country Lemonade. It has just enough of the big lemons scent in Sorrento,
Italy, mixed with Florida citrus to fill my home with the most wonderful smells and to remind me of a beautiful vacation. Fresh and clean.
With all of the news about the Royal wedding, I noticed that one of the more tasteful merchandising items is a limited time candle called Royal Wedding. The description is: "...conjures up a timeless tale of young love told through a sophisticated and soothing blend of florals and subtle fruits."Can a candle do all of that? I think so.
Just like the Bahama Breeze in my office and the Pink Sands in my bathroom, it is a small price to pay for a relaxing trip someplace else for a while. This afternoon, I think I will take a break and head to Rainbows End. Described as " The peaceful calm after the storm... a wonderfully balmy, refreshing scent of clear country air."
Who doesn't need that?
And some Fresh Cut Roses would be nice.
