Creating rooms that flow

Open floor plans in Southwest Florida are a challenge. One room flows into another and often without clearly defined boundaries. That's what we did with this Estero home. We improved the flow and made the space more livable. The owner wanted more space for entertaining and to connect the sitting and living areas. And she wanted it all to look pretty.

What we did:

For the living room: Purchased two contemporary sofas and two chairs. Eliminated the oversized bookcase. Purchased new lampshades for existing Stiffel lamps.

For the sitting area: Replaced loveseat in a fabric to coordinate with the pillows on the two new living rooms sofas and chairs. Added a console for the TV that also allows for artwork and other objects to be displayed.

Both rooms: painted in a neutral shade and we designed cornices for both rooms.

The result:

Refreshed spaces and a sitting area and living room that now flow and are great for entertaining!
